Creative Sessions for Care Homes

A gentle opportunity to explore colour, make marks and enjoy a shared creative experience.

I bring adaptable painting sessions to care homes in Norfolk, giving residents space to try something different in familiar surroundings.

No painting experience is needed. Activities and pacing are agreed with your team to suit the people taking part.

What will we do?

Sessions can include simple colour exploration, painting with brushes or sponges, and playful mark-making on paper.

I’ll offer ideas and encouragement while leaving room for individual choices. Residents can explore freely, follow a simple suggestion or spend time watching before deciding whether to join in.

There’s no pressure to finish a picture or work in a particular way. The emphasis is on an enjoyable experience, with time to pause whenever needed.

How can the session be adapted?

Before the visit, we’ll discuss residents’ interests, access needs and the support available.

We can agree suitable tools, painting surfaces, session length and group size together. Activities can take place seated at tables, with a gentle pace and breaks as needed.

Care staff will need to remain available throughout to provide residents’ usual personal support and help with participation where required.

What’s included?

All agreed painting materials and tools are provided.

Residents’ creations are theirs to keep, share with family or display in the home, according to their wishes.

How long does it last?

Session length is agreed with your team to suit residents’ comfort, energy and the home’s daily routine.

A shorter session or a session with breaks may work best for your group.

What space do we need?

A comfortable communal space with suitable tables, chairs and access to water.

We’ll discuss protection for tables and nearby surfaces, along with time for me to set up and pack away.
