Acrylic on Canvas | 85 × 60cm

A field of resilience, painted in tribute.

In this evocative Jackson Pollock inspired painting, a sea of golden yellow blooms rises against a deep cobalt sky, a vibrant sunflower field bursting with life. Look closely and you will spot a solitary red poppy among the gold. Titled Hope, this 60 x 85 cm acrylic work was created as a tribute to Ukraine, where the sunflower stands as a national symbol and the poppy has long represented remembrance.

Energetic drips and layered splashes capture the bold spirit of nature, but also the courage of a people enduring unimaginable hardship. The sunflower field represents collective strength and unity; the lone poppy, a poignant echo of fragility, loss and unwavering hope.

Finished with archival high-gloss varnish to preserve its rich texture and colour, ‘Hope’ is more than a landscape. It is a message. A quiet but powerful reminder that even in darkness, something beautiful always rises.

Archival varnish has been applied to protect the surface and ensure longevity.
